LWVCC and multiple community sponsors are hosting a Meet and Greet on Sunday September 29, 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm at the Champaign Public Library, 200 W Green Street, Rooms A&B. All candidates running for state and county office in this fall’s General Election have been invited.

Champaign County voters will be asked to decide on two key referendums in the upcoming 2024 General election. To inform voters, the League of Women Voters of Champaign County is hosting a Voter Information Program on 2024 Referendums on Sunday, September 22 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Champaign Public Library, Rooms A&B, 200 West Green Street. Information on the referendum to increase to the countywide sales tax by one-quarter percent for public safety purposes will be addressed by Steve Summers, County Executive; Stephanie Fortado, County Finance Committee Chair; JJ Farney, County Finance Committee Vice Chair; Elly Hanauer-Friedman, County Finance Committee Member; and Elisabeth Pollock, County Public Defender.
