Pandemic: Redefining Our World: Annual Wesley Fall Seminar. October 24, 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm. Wesley Church, UIUC. map  A panel of experts discussed new directions inhealth care, education, energy sourcing, agricultural practices, social psychology, and the global economy. Attendees should be vaccinated. Masks were required. The Seminar was live streamed and will be available later on video. Sponsored by Wesley United Methodist Church and Student Foundation, with support from the League of Women Voters, Champaign County

Timely Topics: lllinois' Equitable Clean Energy Future Presentation by Amanda Pankau, Energy Campaign Coordinator, Prairie Rivers Network.  Wednesday, October 13, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm . Zoom Meeting.  lllinois' new comprehensive energy and climate bill, the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (SB 2408, CEJA), sets Illinois on a path to a 100% clean energy future by 2050 and delivers 100% carbon-free power by 2045.  Amand Pankau  talked about how the bill protects the planet and public health, builds an equitable clean energy economy for all, holds utilities accountable,supports transitioning coal communities and workers, and more.

Women's March Oct 2

Women's March - Saturday October 2, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.  The Women's March, sponsored by the Women’s Law Society at UIUC, supported women's reproductive rights.  LWVCC joined with members of other nonpartisan organizations -  When We All Vote and My School Votes - to help register voters and provide voting information at the start of the march.  Champaign County Democrats registered voters, mostly at the Courthouse where the march ended.
