The League of Women Voters of Champaign County holds several recurring series of meetings and events. The individual events are listed on the Calendar and on the home page under News & Announcements.
League Office Hours
LWVCC offers online "office hours" each month. These are half hour sessions on Zoom.
Each session covers current LWVCC activities and puts a spotlight on a basic aspect of League basics. Members and anyone who is curious about the League are invited to drop in. Members receive a Zoom invitation the morning of the meeting. "League Office Hours on Zoom" are scheduled on the third Wednesday of each month, 12:00 - 12:30 pm. Some sessions are recorded for posting on the League's YouTube channel. |
League Book Club

Meetings to discuss books on current topics related to the League's scope. Previous books discussed were: Fascism by Madeline Albrightm The Woman's Hour: The Great Fight to Win the Vote by Elaine Weiss and Why We’re Polarized by Ezra Klein. Book Club meetings are approximately quarterly. The next meeting is Tuesday, January 12. The book “Caste" by Isabelle Wilkinson will be discussed, led by LWV member Paula Kaufman. Public Presentations
The League of Women Voters of Champaign County (LWVCC) sponsors informational public programs with guest speakers. Topics presented so far in 2019 - 2020 include: Census 101; Census 2020 Forum; Guns and Society; Ranked Choice Voting and Our Community and Covid-19.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the League has been offering public presentations online. Watch the League Calendar for announcements of new online presentations. If you miss a presentation, it may be recorded on the chapter's YouTube channel.

A Conversation with the League

Periodically the League will schedule online discussions with public figures to respond to current community issues. These conversations are presentations followed by question and answers. League members receive information on attending shortly before each event.
