Youth Video and Graphics
This page displays a variety of videos and graphics for local youth that encourage their civic engagement. This collection is maintained by the Youth Outreach and Civic Engagement (YOCE) team of LWVCC. Since high schools have moved to online learning and most people are working in electronic mode, it is our hope that these videos and graphics will be downloaded and widely shared to increase youth participation and civic engagement.
These items are the result of collaboration with local high schools, the NAACP/ACT-SO project and the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Champaign-Urbana Alumnae Chapter. For more information, see Sponsoring Projects section below.

Why Vote? Student Video Challenge
|
The League's Youth Outreach and Civic Engagement (YOCE) team sponsored a Student Video Challenge to engage high school students to develop videos to encourage other students to vote and participate in the November 3, 2020 election. YOCE reviewed national data of young voters and found that they pay most attention to positive voting messages from their peers.

The YOCE Team collaborated with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Champaign-Urbana Alumnae Chapter and NAACP-Champaign County to promote high school students registering to vote and serving as election judges. This collaboration resulted in emails being sent to high schools with social media graphics to share with students and teachers.
