JOIN US

By joining League and participating as a member, you will: - support our work to empower voters and defend democracy - contribute valuable service to the community - gain knowledge and experience through the study and discussion of timely and important topics - discover new interests, develop new skills and learn about crucial issues in your community - make professional contacts and develop lasting friendships as you meet others in League who share your interests.

It's up to you! Many members choose to support the League only with their annual dues. Your membership alone gives us the political influence needed to build a voice for citizens and a force for change. We cover a broad spectrum of issues and concerns; you may choose to become involved in one or more of them by actively participating in a group study, or listening to a panel of experts at a meeting or just reading about them in one of our publications.

When you join LWVCC you add your voice to the powerful force of League members from all 50 states and Washington, D.C. Dues include membership in our Champaign County League (LWVCC) as well as the state (LWVIL)and national (LWVUS) Leagues. Members receive email communications including program updates, action alerts and event invitations from LWVCC and LWVIL. Members also receive a subscription to our local newsletter, The Voter.

You can pay dues with a credit card or check. If you are more comfortable signing up on paper (and pay with check), you can print a New Member Form and mail it in with a check.

Each of these membership types (Individual, Household, and Student) provide the same membership, however, the membership types that cost more are able to help support the league in ways we could not otherwise do.

Individual Membership
$xxx for an individual.
Household Membership
$xxx for a household.
Student Membership
$xx for a student membership.

Frequently Asked Questions - make collapsible if desired

Do My Membership Dues Stay in my Local Community?
Yes! But also no. With each membership level, the Champaign County League  keeps x% of the amount.  The remaining amount goes towards the leagues costs for membership to include all local, state, regional and national dues
. See the chart below (add if DB wants) to get a better understanding of where membership dues go. We are grateful for our members to help lead the League!
