Use the LWVCC Candidate Guide
|
Once you know which candidates will be on your ballot, learn about the candidates and make your choices.
Each election season, LWVCC volunteers compile our nonpartisan Candidate Guide for each contested election in Champaign County. Our Guide is hosted by the National League of Women Voters' Vote411 platform.
The Candidate Guide features questions and answers from each candidate in a contested race. It includes links to LWVCC forums or interviews, and candidate website links, social media, email, and phone number if available. There are also links to candidate forum videos available from elsewhere in the community. Champaign County Candidate Guide Is Live! Find Out Who Will Be on Your Primary Election Ballot

Watch Candidate Forums and Interviews
|
LWVCC regularly offers Candidate Forums before each Champaign County election. Candidate Forums are generally videotaped and made available on YouTube. It's a chance to see candidates in comparison to each other. For some elections, the LWVCC records interviews with individual candidates. These videos are also made available on YouTube.
Candidate Forums: Champaign County Executive & IL-13 Republican Candidates Video recordings of the recent County Executive and IL-13 Republican Candidate Forums are now available in a playlist on the League's YouTube site. Links to these recordings are also included in our Champaign County Candidate Guide here: http://www.votechampaign.org/ For candidate events sponsored by other Leagues or organizations that also feature candidates in races on our ballots (e.g., IL-15, US Senate), check the listings in our Events Calendar . |

Make a Plan for Voting
|
Make a plan for how and when you want to vote.
There are three options for voting in Champaign County: voting by mail, voting in person early, and voting in person on election day. Voters are encouraged to vote by mail or vote early--avoid any lines on election day! Voting by Mail? Return Your Ballot Now! Ballots can be returned to any of the official mail ballot drop boxes located around Champaign County by 7:00pm on March 17. Special note if you're returning your ballot using US mail: If you return your ballot using US mail, it must be postmarked March 17 or before. Because of changes in USPS postmarking and transportation rules, the LWVCC suggests mailing your ballot about a week before election day. If mailing it on March 16 or 17, take your ballot inside the post office to get it postmarked by hand, rather than using an outdoor postal mailbox. See the County Clerk's resources on Many Ways to Vote for more information on all options. |
