Description: League members meet 3 times a year to discuss either a book or a few articles on a topic of interest. As the meeting date approaches, details are sent to League members; the public may also attend. The meetings are announced in League's newsletter The Voter, on the LWVCC Calendar and often on the website and in social media. Description: LWVCC takes pride in hosting candidate forums at the local level across the United States. Candidate Forums are televised forums moderated by the League prior to both the primary and general elections as a way for community members to learn about candidates, gain a broader understanding of their political platforms, and form an opinion on each candidate. The Forums are often co-hosted by other community organizations and businesses, often NAACP and the News-Gazette. The Forums are usually video recorded and made available on YouTube.

Members: James is seeking additional technical, web development and organizational volunteer help in preparing the Guides.
Description: The team produces and maintains an online Candidates Guide that gives voters information about all candidates in contested races. The Guide is nonpartisan and useful for helping voters make their decisions. It's updated before each election.

Fundraising Committee - Team lead: Treasurer Deb Busey

Description: The Fundraising Committee is responsible for development of a plan for raising additional funds for the League through: developing a marketing and branding strategy for the LWVCC; soliciting major donors and building sponsorships for the chapter projects with community businesses and individuals; identifying creative ideas for new and innovative fundraiser events; and supervising and coordinating staffing for LWVCC merchandising events.
Each year, during the budget preparation process, the Treasurer will request the Team Leaders to include with their ensuing year budget request, any requests for special projects resulting in the need for additional fundraising. Upon submission of the Team budget requests, the Fundraising Committee will review the fundraising project requests. The Fundraising Committee will evaluate the requests, develop potential strategies for soliciting the requested funds, and recommend to the Board priorities for fundraising in the ensuing fiscal year. The Board will approve and recommend to the membership fundraising projects to be included and implemented in the new fiscal year budget.
The Fundraising Committee will serve in an advisory and strategy development role to the teams who will be engaged in fundraising. The Fundraising Committee will serve in a continuing advisory and strategy development role with the designated Team Members in completion of required fundraising tasks and initiatives.

Description: The Members Database Manager (MDM) works with the Member Services to manage League membership records and recommend improvements as needed. The MDM ensures that our membership roster is accurate and regularly updated with complete and correct membership category and contact information. Get Out The Vote (GOTV) - Team lead: James Manrique

Description: The Get Out the Vote team uses promotional campaigns including posting flyers in public places and adding door hangers to residents’ door handles—all with the goal of encouraging all those eligible to register and to vote. The team acts primarily in the weeks just before a primary or general election. GOTV volunteers have conducted this kind of activity for the past 3 elections. For the April 6, 2021 Municipal Election, they distributed 1500 door hangers to low-turnout households and provided flyers for display at 50 local businesses. 8/21/21 AP
