Frequently Asked Questions

The League has many different teams and activities, so it can be a challenge to know who's doing what and where to go for information. Below is a list of questions that many new (and experienced) members have about how the League operates.

Basics: How Do I......

See who's in the League?

Browse the LWVCC Member Directory. New members receive a paper copy. It's updated around August and sent by U.S. mail to all members. If you don't have one, or need a replacement, contact Carol Bosley, Member Services team.

Learn more about a particular team?

1. See the short description of each team on the Teams page.
2. Use your Member Directory to contact the person listed as team lead. Ask for a meeting/conversation about what the team does. See if you can attend a team meeting or help in some way.

Attend an online League meeting?

LWVCC uses Zoom for many online group meetings. Members are usually sent an invitation to a meeting that includes a link to click to join the meeting. If you don't know how to use Zoom, ask a League colleague or see the Zoom training page.

Find the League's social media sites, email and YouTube channel?

Find help when I don't know who to contact?

Do you have a question not listed here? Use the general League email: [email protected] to send a short description of your question. This email is monitored by a volunteer, who forwards all questions to the right team lead or other contact person.

Donate expenses for a League activity?

Sometimes, LWVCC members, volunteers, teams or friends would like to pay for some expense of an ongoing League activity out of their own pockets. These payments are a kind of donation. Treasurer Deb Busey would like to know about all such donations because the information helps her build a realistic picture of expenses for the League budget each year. Also, if reimbursement is desired, Deb will see if the expense fits within the LWVCC budget. To get answers, send an email to Deb with information on the activity (date, purpose, amount).

Reaching Out: How Do I......

Tell the League about a friend who wants to join or volunteer?

Send the names and contact information of potential new members or volunteers to Theresa Michelson or Carol Bosley of the Member Services team.
For both new members or volunteers, it's helpful to give us a little background on the person, such as his/her interests.

Suggest a content item for a League publication?

Make a suggestion for the League?

Board members and team leads are interested in your ideas for improving the League. A good place to chat informally is the Coffee and Conversation sessions held each month for members. See the League Calendar for dates.
