Election Resources
Do you need a handout with all the key dates for the 2023 Municipal Election? Or graphics about voter registration and voting to share with your own social media or email networks? Perhaps using the 6-minute video with a step-by-step presentation of how to use the state's online voter registration system would support your voter registration efforts. And the high school student-produced videos featuring students letting others know why it's important to vote have important messages for all audiences.
LWVCC provides all these election-related resources available free for viewing, downloading and use. See the menu for Election Resources to jump to the page you want, or see the details below for more information. |
Handouts and Training Materials
Visit the Handouts and Training Materials page for current resources. This collection is freely available for viewing and downloading. The League's Voter Ready team prepares most of the materials in this section, and updates them before each election. For more about this team's election-related activities, see the Help Voters Register and Vote page on this website.
On the Handouts and Training Materials page check out the chart on "Key Dates for April 4, 2023 Municipal Election." The chart shows the dates for voter registration, early and mail voting, and Election Day voting. The second page includes key websites for more information.
Grow the Vote: Graphics Collection
Visit the Grow the Vote page for a collection of graphics, videos, flyers and more related to voting and the election. This collection is freely available for viewing and downloading. We hope those working with voters will share them on social media, embed them on their websites and otherwise use them to encourage registration, voting and turnout. For more information contact the Voter Ready team at [email protected]
Misinformation About Elections: Resources
This section has the goal of bolstering confidence in the democratic process by getting the facts out and educating the community about voting and elections. It shows resources available for downloading and sharing. The purpose is to share accurate information widely, ideally before misinformation can take hold.
Voter Education
This page highlights some past webinars and videos that provide voters with election-related information.
Radio Public Service Announcements (PSAs)
See the Radio PSA page for a series of radio Public Service Announcements recorded by LWVCC members to announce election-related dates and information. These are available for download and use. Both 15 and 30 second items are available.
Election Judges: Learn about Serving
Visit this page for an insight into serving as an Election Judge. Illinois election judges are community volunteers representing both major political parties as required by the Illinois Election Code. Recently the LWVCC Voter Ready team asked former election judges from both major parties to comment on their experience. (Hover over quotes and use arrows to see more statements.)
Youth Video and Graphics
Visit the Youth Video and Graphic page for a collection of videos and graphics developed by and for youth, originally created in 2020. These items were developed to encourage high schoolers/youth to participate in the election, including registering, voting and serving as election judges. This collection is freely available for viewing and downloading. Everyone is encouraged to share them on social media, embed them on on websites and otherwise use them to encourage youth registration, voting and turnout. Also see the Youth Outreach and Civic Engagement page on this site for more information on this team's activities.
