This special public event features Evanston Mayor Daniel Biss, who will share the theory and explore the realities of rank choice voting (RCV), an alternate electoral system being considered by Illinois communities and the Illinois General Assembly. His remarks will include information on why certain cities and states are adopting RCV.
Biss was elected mayor of Evanston in 2021. Previously, he served as a member of the Illinois House and Illinois Senate and ran for the Democratic nomination for governor in 2018. His campaigns and public service have all featured a strong commitment to public engagement, political reform, and economic justice. Prior to his public service career, Biss was a mathematics professor at the University of Chicago.

This webinar is part of the Civic Awareness Series sponsored by the Robert R. McCormick House at Cantigny Park, the League of Women Voters of Wheaton, and the League of Women Voters of Central Kane County.
