Forest Preserve District Summer Concert Music Series - June - August 2021. This summer the League of Women Voters of Champaign County (LWVCC) is sponsoring the Champaign County Forest Preserve District Summer Concert Series. The LWVCC Voter Ready team set up a LWVCC with League information and help with voter registration. These were opportunities to enjoy local music while sharing information about the League and providing voting information and registration opportunities.

Here are the events:

June 27, 5-7 pm, Candy Foster and The Shades of BlueLake of the Woods Forest Preserve - (Rained out and rescheduled August 15).
Sunday, July 18, 5-7 pm The Chickadee Sermon, Homer Lake Forest Preserve
Sunday, August 1, indie rock band Nectar (open) and Dearie, a local folk duo. Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve, Mabery Gelvin Botanical Gardens
Saturday, August 7, Hot Iron String Band, 5-7 pm, Sugar Creek Shelter, Middle Fork River Forest Preserve Sugar Creek Shelter.
Sunday, August 15, Candy Forster and The Shades of Blue, 5-7 pm, Mabery Gelvin Botanical Garden, Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve (rescheduled from June due to rain)
Sunday, August 29, Corduroy, 5-7 pm, Walnut Hill Shelter, Homer Lake Forest Preserve

Thanks to the LWVCC volunteers who helped in this summer's sessions: Ann Prisland, Karen Fresco, Pat Babich-Smith, Ruth Wene, Beth Martin, Sara Kelley, Carol Baxter, James Manrique and Darlene Kuglich. Other League members visited/talked with attendees including Trisha Crowley, Barbara Jones, Johna Von Behrens.
