Parkland College Fall Convocation August 26, 10:30 am - 1:30 pm. Members of LWVCC's Youth Outreach and Civic Engagement Team (YOCE) and Voter Ready team partnered with Champaign County Clerk’s Office staff to register Parkland College students at Parkland College’s Fall Convocation in the B-1 Lot of the Parkland College campus. Masks were required. Approximately 15 participants registered to vote for the first time or updated their addresses with the County Clerk. Thanks to LWVCC volunteers Rhonda Kirts and Ann Prisland!
Kick-off Meeting for the LWVCC 2021-22 Year, August 22 – Sunday – 3:00 – 4:30 pm (in person, members only). Crystal Lake Park Lake House, Crystal Lake Park, Urbana, Illinois. LWVCC members joined in kicking-off a great new year for LWVCC via Zoom. They had the opportunity to learn first hand about what your League is up to for the coming year and how to get involved. About 33 LWVCC members attended. Speakers at the meeting were Trisha Crowley, Carol Bosley, Sara Kelley, Ann Prisland, Darlene Kuglich, and Rhonda Kirts. . Thanks to the Member Services team and Trisha Crowley for organizing and conducting the meetings. A virtual version of the meeting was presented on Zoom on August 23, 7:00 - 8:00 pm (Zoom meeting, members only). About 5 members attended in addition to those speaking and presenting (Trisha Crowley, Carol Bosley, James Manrique, Ann Prisland, Karen Fresco and Rhonda Kirts.)
